SELF-CONTAINED POWER CHUCK SPEEDS CLAMPING PROCESS, PREVENTS CONTAMINANTS Schunk Inc.'s Rota TB2 pneumatic self-contained power chuck features a new design to reduce maintenance costs and ensure process reliability. Despite the compact outer dimensions, the Rota TB2 has a large through-hole ranging to 560 mm. With an air pressure of 6 bar, it is possible to achieve clamping forces of as much as 280 kN. Base-jaw guidance is equipped with a special seal to prevent penetration of contaminants, helping reduce maintenance costs. The design of the base jaws h a s b e e n o p t i - mized for minimal loss of centrifugal force, even at high rotational speeds. A n a d v a n c e d lubrication system ensures constant clamping forces, a n d a n o pti o n a l inte g rate d p re s s u re s e ns o r provides maximum process reliability. To increase the cycle rate when machining pipes and rods, the Rota TB2 features a double- acting check valve with extra-large channel bores, speeding up the clamping process. Upon comple- tion, the quick-action ventilation system releases the clamping setup. The TB2 is available in sizes from 470 to 1,000 mm with bore diameters from 185 to 560 mm.
