124 MMS August 2017 mmsonline.com TOOLING AND WORKHOLDING INSERTS, HOLDER FOR SWISS-STYLE APPLICATIONS LENGTHEN TOOL LIFE, INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY Carmex Precision Tools LLC has released Swiss- Line, the latest addition to its family of tooling for Swiss-style applications. It combines a polygon insert and holder for external turning, grooving, parting and threading. The high-precision-ground inserts are constructed of solid carbide with a specialty coating designed to lengthen tool life and increase productivity. Developed for machining a range of materials, a selection of inserts can be used with the same toolholders. Holders are coated to resist abrasion for a increased service life. The polygon shape, combined with Carmex's special clamping system, is designed to enable fast change-over, and the carbide/coating com- bination is engineered to withstand the stresses of hard machining small parts.
