The unit also has two double-leaf doors, which prevent access by the operator during a pallet-change procedure and provide access to the working view position and working area while preventing access to the handling unit during machining. The rotary, lifting and linear axes of the handling unit enable movement of workpieces weighing as much as 450 kg (including the pallet) among the setup station, storage modules and the machin- ing center's working area. The unit can handle pallets as large as 500 × 400 mm. To minimize operator errors, the maximum workpiece height is queried at the setup station, preventing opera- tors from feeding in workpieces with dimensions beyond what is specified. One storage module comes standard with the HS Flex unit, and an optional second storage module is available. The modules are structured as racks, of fering customization in the pallet/ workpiece arrangement. As many as four rack shelves can be ordered with as many 20 pallet storage spaces per module. The storage arrange- ment can be defined quickly and easily using a specially developed storage generator, which tests both the permitted weights and dimensions. The HS Flex is controlled and managed by the Hermle Automation Control System (HACS). HACS allows for "smart" order management, which aids the operator in daily business via software with a Sizes starting from #00-120 UN and M1.2 x .20MM We have Thread Mills in an Extensive Range of Shapes & Sizes Technical assistance available in English & Spanish www.sct-usa.com sales@sct-usa.com 1.805.584.9495 1.800.383.2244 Single Point - Thread Mills - Port Tools - Indexable Tools - Specialty • Tools made from premium submicron carbide • Coolant through & AlTiN coated options available • UN, Metric, British, Acme/Stub Acme, NPT/NPTF Westec Booth 2702 Scientific Cutting Tools 6856 E "K" AVE • KALAMAZOO, MI 49048 PHONE: 269-382-2050 • FAX: 269-382-0790 00 $249. 00 w w w. k a l a m a z o o i n d . c o m / m m
