HMC DESIGNED FOR LARGE
AEROSPACE PARTS
Okuma's MA-12500HW horizontal machining
center is designed to provide a balance of speed
and cutting power in difficult materials like cast
iron and aluminum alloys. This makes it well-suited
for large-part aerospace machining, the company
says. The W axis allows for a longer tool stroke
to machine complex, difficult-to-reach part features
with a maximum tool length of 1,100 mm.
Built on an integral bed and base and designed
with reinforcing ribs for increased stability and
load-carrying capacity, the MA-12500H incorpo-
rates Okuma's Thermo-Friendly Concept to ensure
thermal stability and machining accuracy. The
machine is available with the standard 50-taper,
6,0 0 0 -rpm, 60/50 -hp spindle; a 12,0 0 0 -rpm
