MMS AUGUST 2018 160 mmsonline.com IMTS 2018 Milling Machines Six-Axis Machine Reduces Setups, Saves Space Promac's Levante GTR six-axis multifunctional machin- ing center offers a compact footprint and a large machining envelope. It enables roughing, semi-finishing, finishing and deep drilling operations in a single setup. The machine can use drilling tools as long as 23". | Promac Srl | South, Level 3, Booth 339449 Milling/Drilling/Tapping Center Combines Speed, Rigidity The GenMill T-500 mill/drill/tap center from Ganesh Industries features a 12,000-rpm spindle that can tap at 6,000 rpm. Rapid traverse rates are 2,362 ipm in all three axes, and table travels measure 20" × 17". A 21-station tool turret offers 1.6-second, chip-to-chip tool-change time. The machine features six air vises. An enclosure with a top cover is included along with auto- matic power-off and pre-installed, fourth-axis wiring. | Ganesh Industries LLC | South, Level 3, Booths 338045, 338048 Open-Bed VMCs Drill, Mill, Tap, Bevel FlexArm will display FlexDrill CNC's TRD series of VMCs, which feature an open design and a 2-foot-wide bed that ranges from 10 to 80 feet long. Capability to drill, mill, tap and bevel in a single setup makes the line useful for applications involving large or long com- ponents, such as keyway cutting in tube or pipe. The machines also feature movable safety light curtains that divide the bed into sections for simultaneous machining and setup of multiple parts. The machines feature a monoblock welded steel frame and a T-slot machine bed. Spindles with CT or BT 40 tapers are capable of speeds ranging from 2,000 to 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 184 ft/lbs. Max- imum travel rates are 1,181 ipm along the Z axis, 984 ipm along the Y axis and 165 ipm along the Z axis. Spindle-nose-to-table distance ranges from 8.75" to 24.75". The machines run on 480 V and include frames with a chip conveyor and a t-slotted table, a flood coolant pump and tank, and an automatic tool calibrator. The 12" color touchscreen is water-re- sistant and durable. Oversized, double-hung linear guideways contribute to precise movement on all axes. All moving parts are self-lubricating on all axes. A programmable servo motor drives the spindle, while a 10-compartment automatic tool changer provides capacity for many applications. | FlexArm-Midwest Specialties | North, Level 3, Booth 236430 | West, Level 3, Booth 432115
