MMS AUGUST 2018 186 mmsonline.com IMTS 2018 Grinding and Abrasive Machining Contour-Profiled Grinding Wheels Save Time, Increase Tool Life Lach Diamond's metal-bond, contour-profiled grinding wheels are designed to reduce the number of process- ing steps during deep grinding of a variety of materials. Resin-bond grinding wheels need several processing steps to grind components made of carbide, high- alloyed steels, ceramics and non-oxide ceramics, but metal-bond grinding wheels can do similar work in only a single step, according to the company. The wheels enable the grinding of many profile types, both concave and convex, at tight tolerances ranging to 0.005 mm. One wheel is said to provide capacity equivalent to eight regular abrasives and wheels. According to the company, the wheels increase tool life by as much as 25 times and save time by as much as 35 to 60 percent due to higher feed rates per workpiece. | Lach Diamond Inc. | West, Level 3 & Annex, Booth 432054 Grinder Simplifies Automotive Engine Part Production Meccanica Nova's Novamatic 2G internal grinding machine grinds multiple bores of an automotive engine component in one part clamping. An internally mounted FANUC robot loads and unloads workpieces. The company's inner diameter grinders are flexible, agile, high-production grinding machines with various workholding packages and wheel dressing options for parts ranging from 5 to 420 mm. The grinders are said to speed setups and change-overs, simplify mainte- nance, reduce cycle times and improve throughput. | Meccanica Nova Corp. | North, Level 3, Booth 236935 Double-Disc Grinder Features In-Feed Slide, Linear Rails GCH Machinery's double-disc grinder features upgrades including a servo in-feed slide, linear rails, an automatic lubrication system and user-friendly controls. The machine accommodates automatic, semi-automatic or manual loading. The company is sharing booth space at the show with GCH Tool Group, a supplier of new spare parts and grinder components, and Total Grinding Solutions, a centerless grinder manufacturer. | GCH Machinery | North, Level 3, Booth 237323
