130 MMS December 2016 SYSTEMS AND SOFTWARE Memex introduces the MTC-One, an MTConnect connectivity board for legacy machine tools and Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) devices. The M TC - O n e i s M e m e x 's t h i r d g e n e r a t i o n o f MTConnect connectivity boards and is designed to leave no machine behind when it comes to legacy connectivity on the plant floor. The board's powerful Arm Som microprocessor is capable of running Linux, MTConnect adapters, agents and other IIOT software such as Complex Event Pro- cessing (CEP) as well as other applications that might be needed to connect to and process data from devices. CONNECTIVITY BOARD CONNECTS LEGACY MACHINE TOOLS E D ITO R J E D D CO LE , jc o l e @ m m s o n l i n e.c o m interface. A variety of sensors are offered includ- ing power monitoring, eight-channel ADC, ther- mocouple, accelerometer, RH sensor, digital input, DIO and others on the MTC-One roadmap. The board is of industrial quality with onboard real-time clock and bat ter y backup, graceful shutdown circuitr y to prevent data loss, high- voltage surge protection, a Micro SD card slot and a DVI-I display connector that can also con- vert to HDMI for connecting to shop displays. It can be mounted with magnets, screws or din rail. Memex Inc., call 866-573-3895 or visit GD&T ANALYSIS SOFTWARE INCLUDES NEW TOOLS FOR PRODUCTIVITY Kotem, a Quality Vision International (QVI) com- pany, has released version 4 of SmartProfile, its 3D geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) analysis software. It is designed to provide fast, accurate analysis of measurements compared to a part's CAD model and can be used to confirm GD&T compliance for shape, form, profile, orien- tation and location on any rigid part. According to the developer, the sof tware complies with current GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5-1994, ASME Y14.5-2009 and ISO 1101) including multi-tier position and profile tolerances. The new SmartProfile edition offers a host of new features including the ability to construct new features and relationships from a complete library of geometries; a control frame editor supporting multi-tier tolerances, complex compound datums and standard specific symbols; and the user's choice of graphical or text-based reports, or output to statistical analysis software. New productivity The MTC-One includes numerous connectiv- ity options: wireless (Wi-Fi b/g/n) for as many as 110 USB devices, four USB Host (Type A) con- nectors, a USB (Micro A-B connector) diagnostic port, eight onboard digital inputs (providing opti- cal isolation between the MTC-One and the device being monitored, which allows the MTC-One and the device to be electrically isolated), two onboard digital outputs and analog I/O interfaces, as well as onboard Fieldbus/industrial Ethernet protocol
