TOOLING AND WORKHOLDING MMS JANUARY 2018 114 mmsonline.com Exsys Tool, the North American supplier of pL Lehmann rotary tables, has introduced the space-saving TAP five-axis rotary table for small, high-speed VMCs. The table enable users to increase productivity without buying a new machine. The rotary table effectively creates a five-axis machining center for small and medium-sized work- pieces as large as approximately 5.9" (150 mm) cube. It is well-suited for automotive suppliers; the medical, watch/clock and precision mechanical parts industries; and contract manufacturing. The table expands the company's 500 series of modu- lar, multi-axis rotary tables. Adaptable to nearly any work- piece or production situation, the tables can be assembled into as many as 240 different configurations. More than 20 different clamping methods and behind-the-spindle accessories including rotary unions, special clamping cylinders and angular position measuring systems extend the system's adaptability. The compact tables use minimal space in the machine work envelope, easing tool access to the work- piece. The tables and spindles are designed to offer strong resistance to pull-out torque and axial force while Five-Axis Rotary Table Increases Productivity of VMCs providing high levels of clamping torque. Engineered for low power consumption, the tables also feature IP67- rated enclosures. The series includes both single- and multi-spindle tables that are available in four-axis and four/five-axis versions. Swiveling bridge-style four-axis tables employ the Roto-Fix clamping yoke for machining of multiple parts. The tables' backlash-free preloaded gear drives provide high torque and rotation speeds, with spindles capable of 47 to 111 rpm and cycle times for 90-degree indexing of 0.34 sec. The five-axis tables operate in simultaneous machining or productivity-enhancing 3 + 2 positioning modes. | Exsys Tool Inc. 800-397-9748 | exsys-tool.com Arno Werkzeuge USA's Shark-Cut line is a multipurpose cutting tool platform for a range of turning applications, enabling shops to use one tool for facing, drilling, boring and turning. By combining four operations into just one tool, the company says the cutting tool system offers an immediate cost savings of as much as 50 percent, eliminating the need to purchase additional cutting tools such as drills, boring bars and inserts. The system reduces tool setup and indexing time between operations for further cost savings, efficiency and flexibility. It also creates room on the turret for other tools, so shops can maximize the productivity of their machines. The product range features inserts that are periph- erally ground and precisely pressed in grades and geometries for a variety of materials including alu- minum and nonferrous, steel and high-temperature alloys. Multiple coolant ports ensure cutting-edge immersion and chip evacuation. | Arno Werkzeuge USA 800-943-4426 | arnousa.com Multipurpose Cutting Tool Reduces Cost
