MODERN EQUIPMENT REVIEW MMS JANUARY 2018 144 mmsonline.com TURRETS PARTS SERVICE 704.392.0110 info@macoser.com 2747-A Interstate St. Charlotte, NC 28208 Grinder Reduces Setup Time for Helical Screw Workpieces Holroyd Precision's TG 350 rotor grinding machine is designed to provide accuracy, speed and repeatability through greater levels of automation and reduced setup time. TG-series machines are designed primarily for the finish grinding of helical screw components such as worm screws and rotors after they have been milled to a rough or semi-finished state. The TG 350 saves cycle time with its diamond dressing wheels that continually dress during the cycle. Fully automated on-machine probing provides closed-loop feedback of corrections to the dresser wheel and does not require a high level of operator skill. TG models offer production rates and accuracies to suit precise manufacturing strategies. | Holroyd Precision Limited 44 1706 526 590 | holroyd.com Horizontal Turning Center Handles Parts as Long as 118 Inches SMTCL's EHC 125300 horizontal turning center enables the produc- tion of large workpieces. Designed for high precision, the turning center has a swing over the bed of 1,250 mm (49") and can machine parts as long as 3 m (118"). It comes standard with a 1,000-mm chuck, eight-position turret, steady rest, hydraulic tailstock and chip conveyor. The turning center uses a FANUC motor and 0i-TF control, THK ballscrews, NSK spindle bearings, a Stober gearbox, and a Sauter turret. The company offers installation and training services to customers anywhere in North America. The company is also releasing the EHC 125500, which can machine workpieces as long as 5 m (196") and weighing as much as 11,000 lbs. | SMTCL USA Inc. 626-667-1192 | smtcl-americas.com Lathe Provides Stability, Precision South Bend Lathe is introducing the Heavy 10 SB1007 10" lathe. The lathe has a 10 3 / 4 " swing and 30" dis- tance between centers. It also has powered carriage and cross feeds, quick-change gearbox, and all-gear- head headstock. The company designed the lathe to be heavy enough to do a variety of jobs, but light enough to be quick and responsive to the operator. Headstock levers control the spindle speed for an available range of 55 to 2,200 rpm. A heavy- duty, 3-hp Delta variable-frequency driver inverter enables consistent torque at every speed from the three-phase motor (2 hp, two-speed) without requir- ing three-phase power. It includes a jog button, an outboard spindle spider for gunsmithing, a D1-4 camlock spindle, German-made spindle bearings and thick castings. | South Bend Lathe Co. 800-245-2843 | southbendlathe.com
