THERE'S A REASON OUR TOOLHOLDERS ARE EVERYWHERE. Redesigned Grinding Machines Feature Improved Stability United Grinding Group has redesigned the Walter Helitronic Power 400 grinding machine and Power Diamond 400 grinding and eroding machine. The two machines offer 35 percent more workspace with the capability to grind tools as long as 380 mm (14.96"). They also feature remodeled machine beds with enhanced rigidity for greater vibration damping for improved part surface finishes and precision. They include a worm drive for the C axis, an optional torque motor, and pneumat- ically driven steady rests and tailstocks from the Heli- tronic Vision series. These features improve grinding and eroding operations by reducing leaks and improving heat management for greater cleanliness. Unlike previous models, the machines can accom- modate gantry-style loaders for as many as 500 tools or robot loaders for as many as 7,500 tools. Walter's Robot Loader 25 is also available as an automation solution for tools weighing more than 25 kg (55.12 lbs). The machines use Fine Pulse Technology to improve surface quality and cutting-edge toughness for olycrystalline diamond tools. | United Grinding North America Inc. 937-859-1975 | grinding.com Five-Axis Spark Grinder Sharpens Diamond Cutting Tools The universal five-axis Dia-2200-Mini CNC spark grinding machine from Lach Diamond is designed for the auto- matic sharpening of diamond tools and saw blades with diameters as wide as 530 mm. The machine is capable of sharpening new or servicing old diamond end mills and jointing cutters both with and without axis angles. It is also effective on diamond scoring saws and saw blades of all tooth types. The grinder offers profiling programs (both contour-controlled programs with copper electrodes and in-feed programs with graphite electrodes). A program for multiple-piece production is available, capable of automatically sharpening multiple diamond tools or axis angle jointing cutters. The company has also developed an axis angle program that allows for extreme axis angles of more than 45 degrees during production and service. The system was designed for grinding tools for machining composites such as glass fibers, carbon fiber reinforced plastic and basalt fabrics. | Lach Diamond Inc. | 800-522-4872 lach-diamond.com
